If you are too bored with below-average quality Vietnamese movies or just want to go to the theater to relax your mind, Love Destiny: The Movie (2022) is definitely a great choice. After the huge success of the TV series in 2018, the land of the Golden Pagoda continues to bring us the story of Gaysorn and Bhop's "predestined predestiny" in the Rattanakosin dynasty (1782-1855).

Bhop is a talented engineer, he often dreams of a girl appearing in his dreams for years and is convinced that she is the middle man he has always been looking for. When he runs into Gaysorn — the exact same lady as the "dream person" — Bhop is determined to get her. Gaysorn, on the other hand, does not believe in destiny and always rejects Bhop. The couple will go through a long journey with trials and events to be able to get together. In fact, Gaysorn and Bhop are hundreds of years descendants of Karaket and Dej, the two main characters in the Ayutthaya era (1351-1767) TV series. Bhop and Gaysorn's love affair is not only deeply connected to their past lives, but also has a history-changing impact on the dynasty in which they live.

Back in time to love him, the movie version possesses a fairly simple, gentle plot following the usual romcom motifs. Much of the film revolves around Bhop trying to flirt with Gaysorn and how they get together. Co-stars Ranee Campen and Thanavat Watthanaputi, due to their previous pairing experience, have shown a very well-rounded role, but very cute, sweet and somewhat cheesy, especially Bhop's gaze on Gaysorn. The comedy piece of the film is also fully exploited and arranged gracefully, contributing to bringing the audience laughter and fun.

The costumes in the film are also a big plus, the traditional Thai costumes are meticulously designed, sophisticated with many different colors highlighting the unique personality of each character. The crew was also very skillful in combining traditional elements with European culture, creating a craze for ancient costumes while promoting the history of the country.

On the other hand, Love Destiny: The Movie also has many shortcomings that need to be overcome. Due to their focus on the main couple, the crew completely ignored the film's setting. In the climactic segments, the audience may notice that the scene shot in a green font is handled very poorly, if not somewhat sloppily. Besides, the action sequences in the film are also not carefully invested, making the fight scene between the characters quite "marvelous". Although the film has a duration of nearly 3 hours, the drama and climax are "modest", giving way to the main couple to show.

Overall, Love Destiny: The Movie is an entertaining and easy-to-watch comedy, romance. If you don't know what movie to watch on the weekend, choose Love Destiny: The Movie right away!
